Personal statement

Linxiang Ma joined the Strathclyde Business School as a Lecturer in Finance in July 2023. Before joining SBS, he was a PhD candidate in Finance at the University of Melbourne. He holds an MPhil in Economics from the Tinbergen Institute, two economic master's degrees from the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics and the University of Essex, and a bachelor's degree from the Shanghai University of International Business and Economics. Linxiang's research focuses on economic and financial history, political economy, and corporate finance. He is interested in understanding how frictions (e.g., politics, institutions, regulations, behaviours) affect corporate decisions and performances and how these effects evolve in the long run.
