Personal statement

I studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde (MEng, Distinction 2014) and subsequently obtained my PhD from the University for studies on the influence of matrix stoichiometry on the performance of the fibre-matrix interface within glass fibre-reinforced composites, supervised by Professor Jim Thomason and Dr Liu Yang.

I then spent 4 years in industry with Far-UK (Nottingham) where I acted as both technical and overall project across a diverse portfolio of commercial and grant funded projects focussed on applied research and development of composite materials.

I have recently returned to the University of Strathclyde (January 2022) as a Lecturer in Composite Material Sustainability and Reinforcement as part of the Advanced Composites Group (ACG). My goal, through both academic and industrial collaboration, is to develop and characterise the next generation of sustainable, high performance composite materials.
