Research Interests
General research interests include identification of trace explosives, ignitable liquids and biofuels, emollients, and laboratory sustainability.
Current research projects include:
- Monitoring the bioethanol and biodiesel components of E10 petrol and B7 Diesel and investigating the impact of weathering, packaging, storage, and extraction methods on their chemical composition.
- Identification of minor components within bioethanol fuels which could be useful for identification of bioethanol fuels in fire investigations.
- Investigating the impact of measures to improve sustainability within a forensic and/or analytical chemistry laboratory.

- Scholarship of Teaching Collaborative Writing Groups (2023-26) is a facilitated staff development programme that supports staff to take their next steps in scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) and undertake collaborative scholarship projects.
