Personal statement

Claire joined CMAC, Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy & Biomedical Sciences in November 2016 and more recently the Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry. She has a BA Business Studies, a Master of Business Administration and is a PRINCE2 Practitioner. She is a member of the Association of University Administrators (MAUA) and the Association of Research Managers and Administrators (ARMA). Claire manages two European Commission H2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative (MSCA) Training Networks funded for four years: Continuous Resolution and Deracemization of Chiral Compounds by Crystallization (CORE), which brings together 8 academic and 7 industrial partners from 6 European countries to train 15 Early Stage Researchers Plant-Inspired Materials and Surfaces (PlaMatSu) which brings together 3 academic beneficiary partners and 6 industrial partners from 3 European countries and the US to train 9 Early Stage Researchers She is responsible for all of aspects of project management, including reporting, financial management (€4m budget), the training programme, events and outreach/KE activities associated with the programme to ensure the smooth running of this European multi-partner Networks. She has worked in the HE sector for over 24 years in a variety of roles and settings, most recently as Project Manager for the four year MSCA Initial Training Network ‘ChangingEmployment’ based within the Department of Human Resource Management, Strathclyde Business School.
