Personal statement

I am a teaching fellow in finance and both the undergraduate course director for finance (years 1-3) and the MSc Finance course director. My focus is on creating an excellent learning experience for our students. I teach a variety of finance classes and supervise dissertations and MSc projects. My main interests are in behavioural finance and international financial markets and I enjoy sharing curiosity about finance with my students. I have been nominated for the Teaching Excellence Awards several times and was shortlisted in 2018 and 2022.  I am a member of the European Finance Association (EFA) and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA).

Teaching

My teaching interests include behavioural finance, international finance, security analysis, micro finance, Islamic finance and financial regulation. I teach at both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) level and have experience not only in the delivery but also the development and design of new UG, PG, as well as long distance classes. I enjoy the interaction with our students from very diverse backgrounds and the challenge of adapting my teaching in response to the ever evolving financial markets.
