Girls’ Night In is back by popular demand for for 2026

After an incredible response last year, Girls’ Night In is returning to Strathclyde Sport on Thursday 12th February 2026! This women-only event is designed to create a fun, welcoming and supportive space where you can get active, try something new, and connect with other women.

The event takes place at Strathclyde Sport from 5.30pm to 10.00pm, and is free to all women, including non-members.

Whether you're looking to lift weights, unwind in a yoga session, try out a new sport, or just explore what’s on offer, this is your chance to experience Strathclyde Sport like never before.

For one night only, Strathclyde Sport will be open exclusively for women, offering a packed schedule of sports, fitness classes, taster sessions and wellbeing activities. No experience is needed – just come along, get involved and have a great time!

We’ve lined up an exciting range of activities, so whether you prefer high-energy workouts, skill-based sessions or something a little more social, there’s something for you:

  • Try your hand at a range of sports, including basketball, volleyball, rugby, fencing, tennis, badminton, pickleball and futsal, plus club tasters such as Muay Thai, judo self-defence, curling, canoeing, cheerleading, squash and triathlon.
  • Get moving with our studio and pool sessions, including AquaFit, yoga, Les Mills Pilates and Turn’d Up Dance Fitness.
  • Join our gym-based classes, such as HIIT, Glutes, Quads & Core, BoxFit, Hyrox workouts, Cycle 30 and Body Pump.
  • Build confidence and strength with our popular Ladies Lifting sessions in the strength and conditioning area.
  • Enjoy a free massage and take time to browse a selection of wellbeing stalls from health and fitness providers.
  • The fitness suite and swimming pool will be open throughout the night for you to use at your own pace.

For this special evening, Strathclyde Sport will be open exclusively for women from 5.30pm–10.00pm. Men will be required to leave activity spaces by 5.00pm and exit the building by 5.15pm. Please note that while the facility will be a women-only space for participants, some male staff members will be on duty in operational roles throughout the evening.

The event is open to all women aged 16 and over, whether you’re a student, staff member or member of the public. No membership is required – just come along and get involved! Selected activities will be bookable in advance; please view the timetable for full information on times, locations and how to book.

FAQ's

Girls Night In is for all women including trans women and any non binary people who feel this space is beneficial to them. We would ask for your understanding of this in deciding if you wish to attend. All women/female identifying/non-binary people are welcome.

Men will be asked to leave the facility in advance of the event (at 5pm) in order to create a comfortable space for women. 

Our data indicates that just 40% of Strathclyde Sports members are women. Feedback from our female members indicates that they value and feel safer and more comfortable in women only spaces.
