Strathclyde Institute for Genealogical Studies (SIGS) are delighted to be involved as a sponsor of an exciting and unique event -  ‘All About That Place’. The event, celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the Society for One-Place Studies is being led by the Society of Genealogists, the Society for One-Place Studies, Genealogy Stories, and the British Association for Local History and runs online from Friday the 22nd of September to Sunday the 1st of October 2023.

The event is being run via a pop-up Facebook Group and YouTube channel where viewers will be able to access and enjoy over 100 free online bite-sized recorded talks from a wide range of speakers including SIGS own Tahitia McCabe and Calista Williams.

Alongside the wide collection of talks on research tools, analytical techniques, and place history, participants will also be provided with motivating challenge instructions, created to focus on exploring place history as well as being able to download a free challenge workbook to record learning activity and complete challenge tasks.

This event is a fantastic opportunity to join like-minded history lovers and discover the places your ancestors lived in, all from the comfort of your own home!
