IBM volunteers generously give their time to help older adult learners (CLL Learn 50+ students) demystify AI
Recently, CLL launched an exciting new course “AI for ALL” delivered by experts from IBM Glasgow: Nicola Cooper, Colin Davis, Susan McLardy, and Miguel de Andrade. As part of IBM’s commitment to corporate social responsibility, the team generously shared their expertise to help adult learners enhance their digital skills and promote digital inclusion.
The session aimed to demystify artificial intelligence by explaining complex concepts in clear, accessible language and debunking common myths. Participants explored how AI is transforming the way we work, study, and live, as well as how it can boost personal productivity and the importance of using it responsibly.
Feedback from the session was overwhelmingly positive, with students expressing strong enthusiasm and interest in the topics discussed.
All proceeds from the class will be donated to support the Nepal School Project, which is part of Strathclyde University’s international outreach activity. Christine Donald (Director of Strathclyde Engineering for Development) explains more:
We have successfully completed two schools and are currently working on a third, located in a remote area. This year’s monsoon has been unusually long and brought heavy rainfall, causing landslides that have blocked the access road to the site. As a result, these funds will make a significant impact in Nepal and are urgently needed at this time.
