Summary

The Faculty of Science are delighted to be offering our International Excellence Award for Postgraduate Taught Masters Students - January intake. We invite applicants who hold an offer of admission for January 2027 entry to one of the Faculty of Science’s on-campus Masters programmes and are classified as international for fee status, to apply.  The scholarship value is £7,000 - £8,000.

Scholarships will be awarded on a competitive basis to candidates who demonstrate excellent academic performance (current and/ or previously gained) and any relevant extra-curricular or professional experience.

Scholarships will be awarded on a rolling basis. Awards may be allocated early in the application cycle and so making an early application for admission is advised.

Eligibility

To be considered for a Faculty of Science International Excellence Award for Postgraduate Taught Masters Students - January intake, candidates must:

  • Be a new, international (non-EU) fee-paying student holding an offer of admission for a full-time, Postgraduate Taught Masters degree in the Faculty of Science for January 2027 entry.
  • Be self-funded. Students who receive full scholarships, for example from a government office or embassy, will not be eligible.

Terms and conditions

  • Applicants must meet all of the above eligibility criteria to be considered for a Faculty of Science International Excellence Award for Postgraduate Taught Masters Students - January intake.
  • The value of the Faculty of Science International Excellence Award for Postgraduate Taught Masters Students is £7,000 - £8,000 and will be deducted from your tuition fees. 
  • Successful candidates will be selected on their academic performance (current and/or previously gained), any relevant extra-curricular or professional experience alongside their scholarship application form.
  • Awardees must register in an on-campus Faculty of Science Masters degree for January 2027 entry and continue to meet all of the above eligibility criteria. The scholarships cannot be deferred or transferred to any other entry points
  • As a condition of the scholarship, successful applicants must make their deposit payment by the relevant deadline date below. The Faculty reserves the right to withdraw the scholarship offer if the deposit payment deadline is not met.
    • If the scholarship offer was made in August 2026, awardees are required to make the deposit payment by 16 September 2026.
    • If the scholarship offer was made in September 2026, awardees are required to make the deposit payment by 16 October 2026.
    • If the scholarship offer was made in October 2026, awardees are required to make the deposit payment by 16 November 2026.
    • If the scholarship offer was made in November 2026, awardees are required to make the deposit payment no later than two weeks from the date of issuance of the award letter.
  • The scholarship will be awarded towards the payment of a student’s tuition fee. It cannot be used for payment of a deposit.
  • The deadline for consideration is 30 November 2026.
  • Scholarships will be awarded on a rolling basis. Awards may be allocated early in the application cycle.
  • Students are only eligible to hold one scholarship per academic year from the University of Strathclyde.
  • The Faculty of Science's decision on the awarding of scholarships is final. Appeals will not be considered.
