The HaSS RUK Undergraduate Performance Sport Scholarship aims to enable talented student-athletes who are regularly competing at International level to follow a dual career. Consequently, the programme provides academic flexibility (where feasible), World-Class sports science and medical support, and financial assistance towards training and competition costs.

The Performance Sport Scholarship Programme is offered on a one-year renewable basis based on the Performance Sport Panel’s review of applications each year.

Performance Sport Scholars are provided with a comprehensive support package equating to a cash equivalent of up to £6,250 per year.

Scotland's STEM Bursary: Humanities and Social Sciences

Are you looking to career change to inspire the next generation? The STEM bursary scheme to encourage more people to train as secondary school teachers in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computing Science, Technical Education and Home Economics is now open. These are the secondary school STEM subjects with the greatest demand for teachers, and 150 bursaries will once again be available for career changers to apply for the £20,000 bursary in the next academic year while studying for a Professional Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) This year’s bursary scheme will open for postgraduate teacher training courses beginning in August 2021. Lord Hope Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme

The Law School is delighted to announce the continuation of the Lord Hope Fund Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme.  Under this initiative, scholarships of between £500 and £2,000 each shall be available for applicants across our range of LLM/MSc programmes in the academic year 2019-20.   The awards will be granted on a competitive footing offered on the basis of both financial need and academic merit.
 
In addition to the financial award, the successful applicants shall also be invited to attend a celebratory dinner hosted by patron of the scheme and Emeritus Professor of the Law School, the Rt Honourable Lord Hope of Craighead KT, PC, FRSE.
 
The Rt Hon Lord Hope is the former Deputy President of the UK Supreme Court; former Lord President and Lord Justice General of Scotland, and former Dean of the Faculty of Advocates of Scotland. He is a former President of the Commonwealth Magistrates’ and Judges’ Association. He served as Chancellor of the University of Strathclyde (1998-2013). He currently serves as a cross-bench peer in the House of Lords of the UK Parliament.

Data Lab Scholarship for MSc Urban Policy & Analysis and MSc Data Science for Politics & Policymaking

5 full tuition scholarships are available for MSc Data Science for Politics & Policymaking and 3 full tuition scholarships are available for MSc Urban Policy & Analysis for the 2021/22 academic year. These scholarships are available to new Scottish/EU students joining these courses. These scholarships have been made possible with funding from the Data Lab, Scottish Funding Council and the European Social Fund.

The Allan and Nesta Ferguson Charitable Trust was set up in 1979 by their son and daughter in law, John and Elnora. Its objectives have closely followed the interests of the Ferguson family in their commitment to education, peace and development in the Third World. In 1997, the substantial holding of Taylor and Francis shares became valuable when the publishing company was floated, and its subsequent merger with Informa further enhanced the value of the shares in the Trust. Over the last 15 years, more than £30 million has been distributed to a range of charities working in the UK and overseas.

The Trust will only provide a one-off grant to postgraduate PhD students in their final year of study, therefore if you have received a grant previously you are not eligible to apply again, even if you require funding to help with a different course.

The Trust does not support students undertaking a postgraduate diploma/certificate, or Masters degree (such as an MA, MSc, MBA, LLM, MEd, Mphil, Mres).
