Carnegie Trust PhD Scholarships

The prestigious Carnegie PhD Scholarship scheme supports graduates with first class Honours undergraduate degrees from a Scottish university, who wish to pursue three years of postgraduate research leading to a PhD at a university in Scotland. There is no restriction on the subject or field.

Scholarships of between £4,000 - £5,000 are available to new international students joining a postgraduate taught masters degree in the Faculty of Science in the 2022/2023 academic year.

Scholarships will be awarded on a competitive basis to candidates who demonstrate excellent academic performance (current and/ or previously gained) and any relevant extra-curricular or professional experience.

Scholarships will be awarded on a rolling basis. Awards may be allocated early in the application cycle and so making an early application for admission is advised.

Faculty of Science Undergraduate Scholarships for students from England, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and Wales.

Scholarships of £1,000 per year of study are available to new undergraduate students from England, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and Wales who achieve a minimum of BBB at A Level (or equivalent) and join an undergraduate degree in the Faculty of Science in the 2022/2023 academic year.

Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria will automatically be awarded a scholarship. No separate application is necessary.

Students can combine this award with the Strathclyde Excellence Scholarship, the Strathclyde Accommodation Bursary and the Strathclyde Access Bursary.
