Student experiences through our partnership agreements

BA Honours in Accounting

One student who joined us on an advance entry agreement to study a BA Honours in Accounting from a Chinese University said one of the most memorable elements of their study at Strathclyde was the people:

People there are friendly and warm-hearted. This city's slogan "People makes Glasgow" is what I love most.

We are so proud to be located in the centre of Glasgow, voted as the friendliest city in the world by Rough Guides 2021.

MSc in Applied Economics

A student from a partner institution in Shanghai studied an MSc in Applied Economics at Strathclyde Business School on a 2+1 advance entry programme. They enjoyed their time at Strathclyde so much that they continued to study a PhD in Economics as well. The student noted several positives from their experience:

I enjoyed the professional lecture, friendly people and nice environment in Strathclyde and therefore determined to further pursue a PhD degree in Strathclyde. The colleagues and students in Strathclyde are always friendly, and happy to help others. Although there would be tough time during research, it has been quite a pleasure to have their encouragement and support.

When asked for one piece of advice this student would share with future students, they said:

Enjoy your study and keep moving forward. Also, just a reminder that the staff in Strathclyde are always happy and ready to help such as lecturer, tutor, and career service. Do not be shy to ask for their help when needed.

Masters in International Business and Modern Languages

A graduate from our renowned Masters in International Business and Modern Languages (MIBML) Undergraduate degree said their year abroad exchange was one of the best experiences of their life.

Studying in Madrid for a year during my degree set me up for graduate life in many ways, it really was one of the best experiences which I look back on fondly. Granted, it was a difficult year of study as all classes studied were in the Spanish language. However, this really increased my drive and determination. I became fluent in Spanish, a life skill which is a joy to utilise.
