What positive aspects have you experienced during your EEE course?

The curriculum had a strong focus on the understanding of material rather than regurgitation of assignments and exams. Tutorials for each subject helped to clear any queries that students had about topics and served as stimulants for practical thinking and further study.

Why did you choose to study MSc at the Department of EEE?

The EEE Department in the University of Strathclyde was world renowned for its excellence in scientific innovation and research. The Department showcased some of the leading experts in the field of Signal and Image processing which was the target of my study.

Were you awarded a scholarship?

Securing the Commonwealth Shared Scholarship enabled me the opportunity to study at this prestigious university and equipped me to be able to contribute to my country’s future development

What is it like to be an international student?

The University of Strathclyde and the city of Glasgow have provided me with everlasting memories. The Welcome that the city provided was overwhelming and the events hosted by the University for new students (Freshers Fair, Hall Ceilidhs) were not only enjoyable but made it easy to meet other students and adapt to living in a new place. During the course, support for English language, student wellbeing and library sessions all helped me cope with my studies. I participated in the International Student Society going on organised trips across Scotland and attending weekly social events.

The University of Strathclyde also featured a state of the art gym, with free consultation for gym programmes and ran health programs such as Weight Wise, Men’s Health Week and Bicycle Week to encourage students to live a healthier life. Weekly pub nights were also organised to provide international students an opportunity to socialise with each other.

The Careers Service provided guidance to ensure maximum employability of university graduates.

Glasgow itself offered a multitude of places to visit. Being one of the greenest places in the world it consisted of many parks where students could go to take a break from studies and events were held round the year providing a host of fun filled activities.
