ACG awarded Supergen funding for composite recycling research

Dr Liu Yang leads project on commercially viable recycling process for wind turbine blades

A recent proposal to develop a cost effective, commercially viable recycling process for wind turbine blades was successfully awarded funding from the Supergen Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Hub. Led by senior lecturer and RAEng Industry Fellow Dr Liu Yang, this significant new funding will allow the ACG to continue to puruse our world-leading research in the area of composite recycling technology. Working on this project as Research Associate, we are pleased to welcome back alumnus Dr Kyle Pender who has extensive previous experience in this field.

This work forms one of two Strathclyde-led projects to receive a boost from the first fuding call of the Hub’s Flexible Fund.
