ACG welcomes new recruits

Returning researchers bolster group numbers in 2022

We are delighted to officially welcome three rather familiar faces to the ACG!

Dr Ross Minty completed his PhD with us in 2018 before spending several years at Far-UK Ltd as Composites Development Engineer. He re-joins us in 2022 as Lecturer in Composites Sustainability and Reinforcement.

Dr Guillermo Idarraga Alarcon previously spent a spell with us as an RA starting in 2018, and has returned once again as a full time Research Associate working on Bionic Adaptive Stretchable Materials for Wave Energy Converters.

Finally, Chris Cameron is well known to all within the Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering as laboratory manager, as well as for his extensive experience with composites and other materials testing and analysis. He has now embarked on a course of study towards a research PhD on the topic of “The optimal design of a light weight composite pressure vessel by use of cellular core sandwich structures”.

More information about all ACG members, including Ross, Guillermo and Chris, is available on the Meet our experts page
