ACG visit British Airways Maintenance Glasgow

Tour of facilities at Glasgow International airport

In early February 2019 members of the ACG were generously given a tour of the facilities of British Airways Maintenance Glasgow, located at Glasgow International airport. This site is one of a number of UK locations at which essential scheduled maintenance of BA fleet aircraft is carried out. We were guided around the main hangar, including access to all major areas of the 2 Airbus aircraft which were undergoing work. A particular highlight was the section of the tour spent in the composites repair area, learning about the practical aspects of re-working and repairing carbon and glass fibre components. We are very grateful to technical team leader Jim Neeson for coordinating this visit and to all of the staff involved who made us very welcome on the day.
