Dr Liu Yang wins prestigious fellowship

Fellowship Award of Royal Academy of Engineering

In late September 2019 Dr Liu Yang attended the award ceremony in London to receive his Royal Academy of Engineering Industrial Fellowship.

This prestigious fellowship, sponsored by the Weir Group and Weir Advanced Research Centre, runs from 2019 to 2023 and will bring £200k initial funding that enables Dr Yang to closely work with the Weir Advance Research Centre at Strathclyde over the next four years.

He is one of six academics who have received the full fellowship across the UK.

I am delighted to be selected as a recipient of this fellowship from the Royal Academy of Engineering. It will allow me re-focus more of my attention on the cutting edge research we are doing in the Advanced Composites Group at Strathclyde.
