Last week showed a strong turnout from members of the Advanced Composites Group for the 22nd European Conference on Composite Materials which was held in Oslo from June 21st through to June 25th 2026.
The group was delighted to be able to support the attendance of 9 of their PhD's to one of the top international peer-reviewed composite conferences in the world, where each was accepted to give an oral presentation.
This would not have been possible without significant external support from key project partners, Associations and Trusts for which the ACG is incredibly grateful for.
Specifically the ACG would like to acknowledge the support of:
- The Armourers & Brasiers’ Gauntlet Trust who supported the attendance of Johnattan Vargas Londono through their research student travel grant, provided as part of our Armourers & Brasiers' Materials Science Scheme.
- The Scottish Association for Metals who helped support the attendance of Paul Nixon, Gregory May-Wilson and Kathryn Kennedy through their student travel grant scheme.
- The National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS) who helped support the attendance of Gregory May-Wilson and Kathryn Kennedy.
Moving forward the group is already making plans to support attendance to the 25th International Conference on Composite Materials (ICCM25) in Singapore in 2027.
