Young WEIR-WISE - Discovering Engineering with S2 Girls

Covid-19 Update

Unfortunately, the Young WEIR-WISE programme will not be taking place on-campus in January 2021. We are working with relevant colleagues and taking into consideration government guidance to identify whether the programme can run later in the year, either on-campus or in another format.

Information will be sent to all schools, councils and local authorities and will be posted here on our website and on social media channels as soon as we have an update so please check regularly.

The Faculty of Engineering, in partnership with the Weir Group, runs this exciting programme for S2 Girls.

Young WEIR-WISE: Discovering Engineering with S2 Girls, is designed to inspire young female students to discover the excitement and personal satisfaction behind a career in engineering through participation in team-based challenges.

The non-residential, two-day programme usually runs in January and there are 100 places available, all of which are fully-funded by the Weir Group.

The programme will run during two sessions, each for 2 days. Attendees will apply for the programme and be allocated to one of the sessions.

As a non-residential programme, participants must be available to travel to and from the University of Strathclyde campus in Glasgow City Centre each day. A contribution towards travel costs will be provided and lunch will also be provided each day.
