Inaugural Festival of Environmental Law and Governance

The Strathclyde Centre for Environmental Law and Governance (SCELG) is organizing the inaugural Festival of Environmental Law and Governance from 2nd-5th May 2017 in Glasgow, as part of Engage with Strathclyde Week. A series of events over 4 days will explore current challenges and new directions across all aspects and levels of environmental law.

The exciting programme of events promises to showcase the research and global partnerships of SCELG, provoke discussion, and give the opportunity to network with colleagues and experts in the field. Talks will focus on: mining, tourism and settlements in outer space; Brexit and the environment in Scotland; corporate adaptation to climate change through environmental impact assessment, energy regulation, and license conditions; climate change and sustainable development; human rights and the environment; and the law of the sea.

Undergraduate and postgraduate students are warmly invited also to a Networking Event focused on Careers and Partnership Opportunities in Global Environmental Law and Governance on 3rd May.

SCELG runs 4 LLM programmes: LLM in Global Environmental Law and Governance, the LLM in Law of the Sea, Sustainable Development and International Law; the LLM in Climate Change Law and Policy and the LLM in International Law and Sustainable Development.
