Humanities & Social SciencesDiversity Awards 2018

TransEDU Project has won at the Herald Scotland and GenAnalytics Diversity Awards in the 'Diversity Through Education' category.

The TransEDU project, conducted by Dr Matson Lawrence and Dr Stephanie Mckendry at the University of Strathclyde, has won at the Herald Scotland & GenAnalytics Diversity Awards in the 'Diversity Through Education' category. The awards took place on the 11th of October.

The TransEDU team undertook action research to examine the experiences of, and current provision for, trans and non-binary applicants, students and staff in colleges and universities across Scotland. TransEDU then developed a sector-leading website hosting information, guidance, resources and research on supporting trans and non-binary students and staff. Matson and Stephanie have also co-authored a guidance book drawn from the research, to be published by JKP in early 2019. TransEDU has previously won a 2018 Guardian University Award and won a forthcoming Strathclyde Medal Award in 2018.
