The Great War

University of Glasgow

Glasgow University’s online Roll of Honour records the names of those from the University community who served during the War.

University of Strathclyde

Members of Strathclyde University’s institutional predecessors, the Royal Technical College, Glasgow and West of Scotland Commercial College and Glasgow Provincial Training College, served in the Great War. The RTC 1922 Roll of Honour records 3,225 members, students and past-students on the King’s service. The GWSCC did not produce a Roll of Honour. The GPTC 1918 Roll of Honour was necessarily incomplete, but records 900 staff, former students and students in training.

A Roll of the Fallen may be accessed using the links in the section menu on the right or bottom of this page. Links are provided to Glasgow University’s Roll of Honour where members of the antecedent Colleges were also graduates or staff of that University, had taken classes there or had joined the Glasgow University OTC contingent from 1908.
