Students can use the Careers Service at any stage in their studies

To refer one of your students to us, please contact the Information Point on extension 4320 or discuss directly with the relevant Faculty Careers and Employability Consultant.

Students can use the Careers Service at any stage in their studies and we offer a service to graduates of the University. Specialist arrangements are made by GSB for MBA students and graduates.

More than 35,000 uses of the Careers Service are made each year to access help with career issues such as:

  • identifying appropriate career options
  • securing work experience
  • implications of disability, age, location, nationality etc
  • developing career related and employability skills
  • researching job ideas and/or employers
  • designing a job search strategy
  • CV/application form writing
  • interview and assessment centre preparation
  • finding graduate vacancies
  • understanding the labour market
  • changing or leaving courses
  • finding courses of postgraduate study
  • selecting between several job offers
  • career change or development
