The Advanced Forming Research Centre (AFRC) recently hosted a forum for High Value Manufacturing (HVM) Catapult Chief Technology Officers. The HVM Catapult comprises seven research centres, aimed at providing a catalyst for the growth and success of UK manufacturing.

The objective of the forum is to provide an opportunity for technical leaders from their research centres to meet every two months to exchange ideas and best practice as well as collaboratively solve key problems and develop new technologies.

The forum is hosted in a different HVM Catapult research centre each time, providing an ideal opportunity for laboratory tours as well as updates on the development of each centre.

Michael Ward, technical director at AFRC and HVM Catapult CTO forum member, said:

We are proud to host the Chief Technology Officers forum at the AFRC. The HVM Catapult is transforming the UK’s capability for innovation in specific industry areas. The forum allows us to bring together innovation leaders from across the UK. This is important for us at the AFRC as we strive to maintain competitiveness, stimulate growth and deliver the best possible service to our customers."
