Research FellowshipsMarie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowships 2026

Internal Expression of Interest (EOI) Process

The University of Strathclyde invites outstanding postdoctoral researchers worldwide to submit an expression of interest (EoI) to develop a proposal with us for the 2026 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowships, expected to open on 9 April 2026.

The EOIs will be used to assess alignment with the University’s research strengths and priorities and, where appropriate, to identify and match applicants with a potential supervisor to develop a competitive MSCA fellowship proposal.

About the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowships support excellent researchers who hold a doctoral degree and wish to:

  • undertake international mobility
  • acquire new skills through advanced training
  • develop interdisciplinary & inter-sectoral expertise
  • strengthen their long-term research careers

As an Associated Country to Horizon Europe, the UK is fully eligible to host MSCA Postdoctoral Fellows and receives funding directly from the European Commission.

Applicants must:

  • hold a doctoral degree or have successfully defended their thesis before the call deadline
  • have maximum eight years of full-time equivalent research experience from the date of PhD award, with allowable extensions (for example maternity/paternity leave, long-term illness, compulsory service, time outside research)
  • not have resided or carried out their main activity in the host country for more than 12 months in the 36 months prior to the call deadline

Final eligibility rules will be confirmed in the official 2026 Guide for Applicants once published.

Internal Expression of Interest (EOI) Process

Due to the highly competitive nature of this scheme, the University of Strathclyde operates an internal EOI matching process to identify and support the strongest candidates.

EOI Deadline: Thursday 16 April 2026

Candidates who have not yet identified or contacted a Strathclyde supervisor are invited to submit an Expression of Interest by using the dedicated template.

Please note the following:

  • this EOI is a matching exercise only
  • candidates who have already secured support from a Strathclyde supervisor do not need to complete the EOI process
  • independent approaches between applicants & supervisors remain fully permitted

How to apply

Download and fill in the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships 2026 pro forma. Completed pro forma documents should be sent to rkes-international@strath.ac.uk by Thursday 16 April.
