One Ocean Hub’s contributions to and reflections on COP 26
Nov 2021 — During COP26, the One Ocean Hub hosted 13 hybrid events, together with various partners, highlighting why integrated and inclusive ocean governance is essential for tackling climate change. Themes covered by the events included how to strengthen cooperation among UN bodies in tackling the ocean and climate change interface, and using inclusive ocean governance to promote environmental justice.

Following COP26, Professor Morgera — SCELG member and One Ocean Hub Director — was invited to contribute to a ‘Rapid Reaction Seminar on COP26’, organized by Wageningen University to critically reflect on the significance and outcomes of COP26 related to nature-based solutions and human rights on 19 November 2021.
