9 primary schools in Glasgow have incorporated Island Explorers into their curricula and in 2020 we are delighted to expand the programme to schools in the Outer Hebrides and Shetland. The programme has been developed as a progressive journey into sustainability over four years. A journey where pupils learn each year about a different sustainability challenge and gradually start recognising links between the different challenges explored between P4 and P7.
However, teachers and pupils will know best what works in their school environment. Island Explorers allows for flexibility and can be adapted to the needs of each school.
