This strand encompasses colleagues’ interests in the emergent norms of political media and in developments in political communications, and how these enable and cultivate new forms of public and political activism. Our projects include government communications and public responses around the management of COVID, the mediation of political scandal, multimodality in political discourse, race and postcolonialism in political identity, and analysing emotion as public marker in mediated political discourse.
