Our aim is to coordinate, support, appraise and maintain the effectiveness of the organisation’s occupational health, safety and wellbeing management system. To acheive this aim, our team employs several experienced advisers, who are able to offer advice on a variety of topics.

Information relating to health and safety throughout the University can be found below;

    • Information: With the festive season upon us, the University would like to provide some simple advice to ensure that you have a safe christmas, both at work and at home. For some simple fire safety tips this christmas you can find information here - Christmas Fire Safety 2017
    • Information: At the Big Health & Safety Meet, a new initiative for the reporting of near misses throughout the University was launched. Near Miss Report postcards will shortly be sent to all departments to be used in the event of  near miss situation which can be used alongside the S1 form. A near miss is any unplanned event that doesn't injure or cause ill health but may result in damage to property, materials or the environment. The postcard can be found here - Near Miss Postcard 
    • Information: OHSaW have launched the University Standard for First Aid. This series of documents aims to strengthen compliance by ensuring that sufficient First Aid provision is in place. Information on the new standard can be found here - First Aid
