NewsTop League Table Results for Chemistry

We are delighted to have been named the number 1 Chemistry department in Scotland and number 3 in the UK in the latest Times/Sunday Times Good University Guide!  This is testament to the excellent teaching, entry standards, student experience and ground breaking research we strive to deliver.

This top accolade is in addition to our recent achievement of being named the UK number 1 for Forensic Science in the 2021 Complete University Guide league tables.

Professor Duncan Graham, Head of Department for the Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry at the University of Strathclyde stated:

The recent rankings in the Times/Sunday Times Good University Guide and the Complete University Guide show that the Department is an excellent place for students to gain a first rate experience in their chemistry degrees whether as under- or postgraduates.  League tables can be helpful when considering where best to study or train in research and we’re particularly pleased to see our efforts in focussing on the student experience being recognised by these two organisations.  Students who study and train with us will benefit from being immersed in a world leading environment for teaching and research, setting them off on their own careers and joining a fast moving, ambitious Department and University that puts our students at the centre of our activities.
