Glasgow Rugby Varsity returns on Friday 24 February with University of Strathclyde and University of Glasgow going head-to-head at Glasgow Warriors’ Scotstoun Stadium once again.

Both University’s Women’s clubs will kick off at 5.30pm ahead of their male compatriots’ game at 7.15pm, making the fixture a double header for the first time.

1,500 tickets sold out in 48 hours for the 2022 fixture and this year the entire 3,200 Main Stand capacity will be available with another sell out expected.

Strathclyde Men’s team have never lost a Varsity match, beating their rivals from across the city 42-24 to regain the trophy last year.

University of Strathclyde Director of Sport and Active Health Neil Brown said: “Glasgow Rugby Varsity is a fantastic event and an opportunity to celebrate our successful partnership with Glasgow Warriors.

“For the first time, both women’s and men’s clubs are playing in a double header and the fact that we’re anticipating to sell out the main stand at Scotstoun demonstrates what an exciting time it is for student sport.”

Glasgow Warriors Manging Director, Al Kellock, said: “We’re delighted to be able to welcome players and students from across the city to our home at Scotstoun Stadium.

“With more than 3,000 spectators expected to turn out for the games this is a fantastic opportunity for us to connect with a new audience and give them a warm Glasgow Warriors welcome.

“From the club, we wish all the teams the very best of luck.”
