Pinkston Watersports Centre

A legacy of the 2014 Commonwealth Games, Pinkston houses a 100m Artificial Whitewater Course and 145m Flat Water Basin for Canoe and Kayak Slalom and Flat Water training, respectively. Furthermore, Pinkston Watersports Centre is home to Glasgow Triathlon Club and Glasgow Kayak Club who use the Flat Water Basin for Open Water Swimming and Canoe Polo training, respectively.

Both the Flat Water Basin and Artificial Whitewater Course are supplied with clean water treated to bathing quality making it an exceptional training facility for paddlers and open water swimming.

Strathclyde Country Park

Situated in 400 hectares of countryside, Strathclyde Loch has a strong tradition for hosting watersports events having hosted the Swimming stage of the Triathlon competition at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and Rowing events at both the 1986 and 2014 Commonwealth Games.

The Loch was also used to host Rowing events at the 2005 Special Olympics and hosts the British Rowing Championship every four years. Home to Strathclyde Park Rowing Club and Scottish Rowing, the Park boasts an 8-lane 2km rowing course and the only indoor rowing tank in Scotland. In addition, the 200 acre Loch is a popular training facility for Sailing, Windsurfing and Kayaking.

Tollcross International Swimming Pool

Housing the 10-lane 50m Commonwealth Pool and a 6-lane 50m ‘Training Pool’, Tollcross has hosted Swimming events at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, and the 2015 International Paralympic Committee Swimming World Championships and 2018 European Swimming Championships. The Pool is home to The City of Glasgow Swim Team which operates a Performance Swimming Programme in partnership with the University of Strathclyde and other Glasgow-based universities.

Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome

Built for the 2014 Commonwealth Games where it hosted the track cycling events, the 250m indoor cycling track has the capacity to hold up to 4,500 spectators and is the headquarters of Scottish Cycling.

Cathkin Braes Mountain Bike Trails

Set against the backdrop of ancient woodland, steep slopes and wide open spaces, the trails provide challenging courses for elite riders.

Cathkin Brae trails were used for Mountain Bike events at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Emirates Arena

Houses Athletic Jumps and Throws areas and a hydraulically lifted IAAF-standard 6-lane 200m Indoor Running Track. The arena has a crowd capacity of 5,000 and is host to the European Athletics Indoor Championships in 2019.

Renfrew Shitokai Karate Club

A Shito-ryu Karate association providing instruction in both traditional Karate and the competitive Olympic sport governed by the World Karate Federation. Coached by Sensei Terry Connell 7th Dan, Shitokai Scotland have produced 17 British and 39 Scottish Individual Champions since 2000.

Snowfactor Indoor Ski Slope

The 200m Main Slope is the longest indoor real snow slope in the UK and is serviced by two Poma button lifts.

Winner of the English Alpine Championship Best Club for 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018, the four floodlit artificial slopes are used for Alpine and Freestyle Skiing and Snowboard training.
