What is University Clearing?
You still have the chance to study at our multi-award winning university. Clearing is the process where you can apply for courses that still have places available. Applicants contact us directly to see if we’ll accept them.
Strathclyde welcomes international students from over 100 countries. We're looking forward to assisting you through the application process on to your desired course, and supporting you throughout your degree and beyond.
We welcome applications through Clearing from international students (including EU). You're eligible to apply through Clearing if:
- you are classed as an overseas student for fee purposes (including EU), and
- you missed the 30 June UCAS application deadline by which to apply to universities
- you do not have any offers at a UK university
- you did not meet the required grades for the conditional offers that you already have at other universities

In addition to an excellent academic environment, I have felt constantly supported at every step of the way right from the time I set foot on campus.
Glasgow is a perfect city for studying because it has everything the student needs from restaurants, cafes and shopping. Overall, it is a diverse city and the people here are friendly which helps in the process of adjusting to a new place.
Physics with teaching
It’s right in the heart of Glasgow, always plenty to do within the city as well as being a short distance from the Trossachs! It has a very welcoming atmosphere from the first day, there are a lot of clubs and societies to choose from.
There is always something going on in Glasgow, whether it’s gigs, pub crawls or even late nights in the library; there’s plenty to do. I didn’t know anyone on the business course at first and found the class size to be a little daunting, but Strathclyde offers many opportunities to meet people and share these experiences with.
The highlight of my time at Strathclyde has been meeting new people from all over the world and being exposed to a lot of different cultures and lifestyles.
Glasgow is Scotland's biggest & most cosmopolitan city
Our campus is based in the very heart of Glasgow, Scotland's largest city. We're in the city centre, next to the Merchant City, both of which are great locations for sightseeing, shopping and socialising alongside your studies.
