What is University Clearing?

You still have the chance to study at our multi-award winning university. Clearing is the process where you can apply for undergraduate courses that still have places available. Applicants contact us directly to see if we’ll accept them.

Strathclyde welcomes international students from over 100 countries. We're looking forward to assisting you through the application process on to your desired undergraduate course, and supporting you throughout your degree and beyond.

If you would like to make an enquiry about Clearing, please contact us via email:

We welcome undergraduate applications through Clearing from international students (including EU). You're eligible to apply through Clearing if:

  • you are classed as an overseas student for fee purposes (including EU), and
  • you missed the 30 June UCAS application deadline by which to apply to universities

  • you do not have any offers at a UK university
  • you did not meet the required grades for the conditional offers that you already have at other universities

EU Transition Scholarships

We're delighted to announce our EU Transition Scholarships to support full-time undergraduate students commencing taught courses from August 2021. The scholarships will be available to those EU applicants who would have previously been eligible for Home (Scottish/EU) fee status but, because of Brexit, will now be classified as being eligible for International fee status

Our EU Transition Scholarships complement our comprehensive range of international student scholarships and funding opportunities which are available every year.

Glasgow is Scotland's biggest & most cosmopolitan city

Our campus is based in the very heart of Glasgow, Scotland's largest city. National Geographic named Glasgow as one of its 'Best of the World' destinations, while Rough Guide readers have voted Glasgow the world’s friendliest city! And Time Out named Glasgow in the top ten best cities in the world - we couldn't agree more!

We're in the city centre, next to the Merchant City, both of which are great locations for sightseeing, shopping and socialising alongside your studies.
