eGates for International Students: your passport to a smooth arrival

Here's a summary of when you can use the eGates at the UK border, depending on your visa type and nationality:

Student visa 

Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, USA: Yes, you can use the eGates.  Just keep copies of your travel documents and boarding passes for registration with the University.

EU/EEA/Swiss: You're also eligible for the eGates. Don't forget to keep your travel documents and boarding passes for registration with the University.

Other nationalities: You'll need to speak with a Border Force Officer upon arrival.

Standard Visitor visa (for Study)

Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, USA, EU/EEA/Swiss: You have options! Use the eGates or speak with a Border Force Officer. Remember, no passport stamp but you can study for up to 6 months. Keep copies of your travel documents for entry confirmation and registration at the University.

Applied for a visa before arrival (same countries as above): eGates are open for you! Bring your travel documents for registration at the University.

Other nationalities: You'll need to speak with a Border Force Officer upon arrival.
