Project Details

Vulnerability has arisen as a major concept to discuss inequalities and the harm they may cause. When dealing with information it is often used to describe those threatened by harmful information environments, brought about by information toxicities such as misinformation or fake news, or by structural inequalities such as digital divides.

But vulnerability has positive dimensions, ones associated with authenticity, growth, creativity, and resilience. So, what does it mean to be vulnerable with respect to information? This project will answer this question, looking at how information vulnerability comes into being, how it is experienced and what its consequences?
