What did you like about Strathclyde?
Apart from the beautiful facilities that the university has, it also offers excellent support for students. For me, as someone who travelled from Mexico to Scotland, this very support made me feel welcome and at home. In particular, the Disability team was a great source of help throughout the semester, providing the adjustments I needed and ensuring that my experience was as smooth and inclusive as possible.
Another thing I truly loved was the Strathclyde gym. It allowed me to continue my habits and routines from another part of the world, giving me a sense of familiarity and balance while living abroad.
What opportunities did Strathclyde present that were different to studying at your home university?
One aspect that made my experience at Strathclyde truly positive was the support from the Disability team. They provided the necessary adjustments to help me manage more easily both within the university and beyond, including companions who guided me from the classroom to my accommodation. They also adapted my assessments so that my needs were properly taken into account.
Did you have the opportunity to travel elsewhere on your exchange?
I only visited places in Scotland, but I definitely fell in love with the Highlands!
What is your favourite memory of your exchange?
One of my favourite memories from my time abroad was during the first week of meeting my flatmates. We all came from different corners of the world: New Zealand, France, New Mexico, Australia, Auckland, and me from Mexico. One evening, we gathered in the flat, played Just Dance, and then started teaching other little dances that are common at parties in our countries. I showed them how to dance Payaso de Rodeo, while they shared the fun choreographies they knew from back home. It was such a joyful and heartwarming moment, and that night I realised I was where I wanted to be.
Another one of my favourite memories was Christmas. At first, I was nervous because I didn't know where or with whom I would spend it. In the end, I had a wonderful Christmas with people I met thanks to Strathclyde. What could have been a lonely and uncertain holiday turned into a warm, joyful celebration, surrounded by friends who made me feel at home.

How has exchange impacted your life? Would you consider living abroad again?
The exchange program had a profoundly positive impact on my life.
It gave me direction about where I want to take my studies and where I would like to live once I finish my degree. Academically, it also gave me clarity about continuing my path in research, which is the focus I would like to give to my career and professional journey.
It changed my life and the way I see the world. In fact, it inspired me to make the decision to go on another exchange. I now look forward with excitement and hope to return to Strathclyde next semester!
