Confucius Institute opens in refurbished Ramshorn Church

Built in 1826, the Ramshorn Church has reopened as the home of Scotland’s National Centre for Languages (SCILT) and the Confucius Institute for Scotland’s Schools (CISS.

To mark the move CISS held a showcase event on Monday 23 September that celebrated the linguistic and cultural talents of Scotland’s children and young people.

The event was attended by officials from the Chinese embassy, Scottish Government and and Confucius partners from local authorities and schools across the country.

The building will be used to support learners in schools and the wider community to develop the knowledge, language skills and cultural awareness required of citizens in the globally interdependent world of the 21st century.
