    Workshop: Foundations of Lean Start-Up with Ranjit Das

    Using concepts from Eric Ries in his book, “The Lean Startup”, this workshop is one of the ways large companies are reinventing new product development to increase their success rate. Startup businesses also benefit from the workshop since it provides a set of tools, & principles that help better decision making around the ‘continue or stop’ decision. This workshop is delivered and facilitated by Ranjit Das, Academic Director of Executive Education Programmes at Strathclyde Business School.

    This hands-on workshop will walk you through the steps of defining your business model to help you start and grow an investable business. The Business Model Canvas will give clarity to your idea and you’ll create a tangible, visual document that maps your business model in a single page. This is a chance to look at your business in depth, pulling out key features such as customers, costs and revenues and what makes your company stand out from the crowd. 

    We will also have a member of the International Student Support Team available to give an overview of the Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur Visa. This will give interested international students an opportunity to learn more about the Visa and to ask specific questions.

    Enterprise Pathway: Academy Weekend

    The second stage of Enterprise Pathway is Enterprise Academy: a two-day, intensive training weekend that focuses on interdisciplinary working and developing key business skills through the simulation of a business start-up process. Participants will learn about building the right team, generating a viable business idea and understanding entrepreneurial finance. Enterprise Academy is only open for applications to individuals who attend five out of six Enterprise Footsteps sessions.

    Enterprise Pathway: Challenge Final

    Enterprise Challenge is the final stage of the Enterprise Pathway programme. Finalist teams from Enterprise Academy will have the opportunity to present their polished business presentation to an audience of experienced entrepreneurs and industry experts. Members of the audience will have the opportunity to vote for the winning team in real-time, adding a fun and exciting element to this event! Enterprise Challenge is an invitiation-only event.     Company Creation Conference

    The Company Creation Conference is a free, one-day conference open to the entire Strathclyde community. This event will give you the tools you need to turn your ideas into successful companies. It's a full day of workshops and caters to entrepreneurs at both the idea and start-up phases, covering topics such as intellectual property, business planning and investment. The next Company Creation Conference will take place as part of Engage with Strathclyde Week 2018. A confirmed date will be announced soon!

    Strathclyde 100 is a network of entrepreneurial alumni and business people. Through a series of events, our alumni and business people support emerging Strathclyde entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs and businesses pitch their ideas to the audience with the aim of securing help with specific things.
