    Enterprise Pathway: All Footsteps Sessions

    Enterprise Pathway is the University's flagship enterprise and entrepreneurship training programme; encouraging students from all faculties and all levels of study to enhance their employability, explore entrepreneurship and build knowledge and confidence of business start-up through practical application. No business background or business idea is required.

    Ask the Experts: Grant Funding

    Are you looking for grant funding for your business? Representatives from SMART, Scottish Enterprise and Business Gateway will be on hand to talk about the various grant funding available and how you can access support. 1-2-1 sessions with representatives from each organisation will also be available.

    Business Model Canvas Workshop

    This hands-on workshop will walk you through the steps of defining your business model to help you start and grow an investable business. The Business Model Canvas will give clarity to your idea and you’ll create a tangible, visual document that maps your business model in a single page. This is a chance to look at your business in depth, pulling out key features such as customers, costs and revenues and what makes your company stand out from the crowd. 

    We will also have a member of the International Student Support Team available to give an overview of the Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur Visa. This will give interested international students an opportunity to learn more about the Visa and to ask specific questions.

    Commercialising Research at the University of Strathclyde

    This workshop is designed to give participants an overview of the fundamentals of intellectual property (IP) ownership and the University’s commercialisation process, providing the opportunity to ask questions relevant to their own commercial aspirations. It will cover the University's Key Performance Indicators relating to Knowledge Exchange; key messages on protection, disclosure and ownership of IP and the role of Research and Knowledge Exchange Services.

    Ask the Experts: Investments for Digital Business

    This Ask the Experts session will be hoasted by Andrew Sloane, Co-Founder and Investment Lead with Accelerated Digital Ventures (ADV).     Simple Guide to Work Visas after Study

    This session aims to tell you all you need to know about your visa options when you finish your current course.

    These include:

    • Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur - if you want to try and set up a business in the UK
    • Tier 2 if you want to look for permanent work in the UK 
    • Tier 4 Doctorate Extension Scheme - if you are a PhD student wanting to look for work after you complete your PhD
    • Tier 5 – for options that allow temporary work in the UK

     

    These sessions are relevant for any international student thinking of working / internships / setting up a business in the UK after they complete their current course.
