    RSE Enterprise Fellowships Information Session

    SEN is hosting an information session on The Royal Society of Edinburgh (RSE) Enterprise Fellowships. This session is aimed at anyone interested in applying to the scheme and is looking for more information on the application process. RSE Enterprise Fellowships enable promising science and technology researchers to develop into successful entrepreneurs.

    Strathclyde Entrepreneurial Network: An Introduction to Enterprise at Strathclyde

    Interested in starting your own business? Looking to develop enterprise skills to enhance your CV? Strathclyde Entrepreneurial Network (SEN) is here to help! SEN supports students from all degrees and subject areas in starting their own businesses and developing entrepreneurial skills. This session will give you an insight into the entrepreneurial support available at Strathclyde, including: advisory support, skills development opportunities and the Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur Visa scheme. Taking place at the Strathclyde Enterprise Hub, Level 6 Graham Hills Building (50 Richmond Street Entrance)

    Business Model Canvas Workshop

    This hands-on workshop will walk you through the steps of defining your business model to help you start and grow an investable business. The Business Model Canvas will give clarity to your idea and you’ll create a tangible, visual document that maps your business model in a single page. This is a chance to look at your business in depth, pulling out key features such as customers, costs and revenues and what makes your company stand out from the crowd. 

    We will also have a member of the International Student Support Team available to give an overview of the Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur Visa. This will give interested international students an opportunity to learn more about the Visa and to ask specific questions.

    Strathclyde 100: FinTech

    In celebration of the growing financial technology developments within the University of Strathclyde and the Glasgow City Innovation District, SEN is partnering with Strathclyde Business School and FinTech Scotland to host S100: FinTech. This event will demonstrate the range of FinTech opportunities at Strathclyde and beyond, bringing together entrepreneurs and businesses from across Scotland’s growing FinTech community.

    Simple Guide to Work Visas after Study

    This session aims to tell you all you need to know about your visa options when you finish your current course.

    These include:

    • Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur - if you want to try and set up a business in the UK
    • Tier 2 if you want to look for permanent work in the UK 
    • Tier 4 Doctorate Extension Scheme - if you are a PhD student wanting to look for work after you complete your PhD
    • Tier 5 – for options that allow temporary work in the UK

     

    These sessions are relevant for any international student thinking of working / internships / setting up a business in the UK after they complete their current course.
