Strathclyde Green Office

What’s the Green Office?

The Green Office is a student-led sustainability team dedicated to embedding sustainability within the student experience at the University of Strathclyde. Working in partnership with staff and academics, the team drives meaningful change across campus and empowers students to shape a more sustainable future.

Objectives

The Strathclyde Green Office turns ambition into action by:

  • Plan and deliver sustainability activities, campaigns, and events.
  • Cultivate sustainability leadership and transferable green skills.
  • Raise awareness around sustainability through digital content.

Part of a Global Movement

The Green Office is supported by SOS-UK International, launched in 2019 to enable student and youth organisations worldwide to lead on sustainability and social justice in higher education.

The Green Office Movement

Through the wider Green Office Movement, students, staff and academics collaborate to advance sustainability both within universities and beyond. As part of this global network, Strathclyde’s Green Office contributes to a shared vision of transformative, student-powered change.

Meet the Green Office Coordinators

"I'm Leena, The Green Office Coordinator and a Doctoral researcher in Sustainable Architecture. Basically, I talk about sustainability until people start recycling out of guilt.

I joined the Green Office because I love people, purpose, and probably talk too much. Big believer in social justice, good design, and the power of showing up.

When I’m not buried in research, you’ll find me hiking somewhere I’ll definitely get lost, pretending pilates is a lifestyle, and getting life advice from my cat (she’s usually right)."

"I’m Erin, an MSc Sustainability & Environmental Studies student and the Comms Lead at the Green Office! I’ll be keeping you updated on all the fun sustainability initiatives happening across campus, and making sure we capture the best moments along the way.

I joined the Green Office because I’m passionate about making sustainability accessible and part of everyday life. I’m excited to help build a community where students feel inspired, supported, and part of something meaningful.

I’m a nature lover, avid reader, and an iced coffee connoisseur! When I’m not taking pictures for the Green Office, you’ll find me taking way too many photos of my cats."

"I’m Laurie, a 3rd year Immunology and Microbiology student.

I joined the Green Office because I want to make it even easier for Strathclyde students to get involved in taking Climate Action through sharing each other’s passion and knowledge for sustainability.

My hobbies including renting the next bikes to get around the city (or back from nights out), going to the public library and trawling the charity shops in the west end and south side for second hand goodies."
