Under data protection legislation, you have the right to submit a formal complaint to the University about the handling of your personal data or a response you have received in relation to your rights under the legislation.
If you wish to make a complaint about how the University has handled your personal data, i.e. information about you, then please complete this form. This can relate to:
- a breach of security in relation to your personal data;
- a response you received about the processing of personal data, e.g. a Subject Access Request;
- how the University handled a subject rights request you submitted; or
- any other situation where you believe the University has not processed your personal information in accordance with the law.

Please note that this form is only for data protection complaints. If you have a complaint about another issue you should check the appropriate route on the University website.

Next Steps
Once your form has been submitted the Information Governance Unit will:
- Provide an initial acknowledgement within 30 working days.
- Review your complaint and investigate the matter.
- Issue a formal response to the email address you provided which will include:
- full details of the actions taken to investigate your complaint; and
- the outcome of the investigation.
