Remit
The Senate delegates authority to the Senate Business Committee to:
- Review papers for consideration at Senate
- Agree the agenda and matters for discussion and decision at each meeting of Senate
- Consider, on behalf of Senate, business requiring immediate action, and to report to Senate on action taken
The function of Senate Business Committee is:
- To consider any matter which the Principal may raise
- To establish such working parties, advisory groups and sub-committees as the Committee may from time to time determine
- To invite any persons whose knowledge and experience would be useful to attend meetings of the Committee
- To support effective communications from and to Senate
- To review papers submitted for Senate
Composition
- Vice-Principal (Convener)
- One other Senior Officer/Deputy Associate Principal
- A member of Senate representing each of the four Faculties: Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and Strathclyde Business School
- Representation from Education Enhancement
- Subgroup representation
- Management support from Education Enhancement
- StrathUnion President
