There is great disparity across the world in its race to achieve net zero, with the greatest cost implications for developing nations. However, our research aims to engineer new cost-effective materials with improved conductivity for solid oxide cells – an electrochemical conversion device that produces electricity directly from oxidising a fuel, such as hydrogen. With potential to address the energy needs of many industrial sectors, we aim to make green energy affordable for all nations.
