Voices of Indigenous Peoples, small-scale fishers, women, and youths are often overlooked in policy forums on the ocean, climate change and blue economy initiatives. 'Lalela uLwandle', a research-based theatre project developed by South African collective Empatheatre (part of Strathclyde-led One Ocean Hub), explores intergenerational environmental injustices and connections between human rights and ocean-climate governance. In 2022, the group was invited to perform (pictured) at the UN Climate Summit (COP27) in Egypt.
