In the past 30 years the global trade network has experienced an immense restructuring with new streams of freight being planned, developed, and proposed almost annually. This intangible movement of people, services, goods, and knowledge has been evolving since the dawn of the first complex human civilisations. The recently proposed economic corridors are shown in red, the existing railway system in light grey and the connecting global ports in white.
