Historic buildings serve as repositories of cultural identity within societies. Regrettably, they are frequently abandoned, and eventually demolished to allow for new constructions, despite their role in reinforcing community cultural heritage. These architectural treasures encapsulate the identity of the communities where they stand. This research investigates the impact of heritage buildings in Nigeria's South-South region on preserving the cultural identity of its inhabitants, aiming to conserve them for future generations.
