The food we eat can impact how our bodies absorb and utilise drugs a phenomenon known as "food effect" on drug bioavailability. The presence or absence of food in our intestine can dramatically alter how our bodies respond to treatment. Our research focuses on the effect of gastrointestinal fluid components on drug solubility in both fasted and fed states which provides the first step to assess the food effect on drug effectiveness.
