My research is developing nasal sprays which can deliver drugs to the brain after nasal application. This enables drugs travel quickly to brain & exert its therapeutic effect. Antidepresseants (ketamine), opioid antagonists (naloxone), anti-migraines (sumatriptan) & many other life-altering drugs can be given this way. In some cases, like suicide-prone individuals, the drug is best if it works almost instantaneously. Key to human well-being might lie in "smelling the happiness"!
