This project aimed to improve the sustainability of mobility aids and has resulted in the design of a new walking frame using cardboard. With application in a range of indoor healthcare and rehabilitation settings, it can be flat packed and assembled flexibly, produced to bespoke dimensions, personalised to taste, and easily recycled after use. The design shows is 18% lighter than its metal equivalent and is robust enough for gymnastics!
