Q&A

Q: What made you decide to start these free workshops?

A: It began with my research on transnational entrepreneurship in Glasgow, particularly among the younger generation. While interviewing people, I noticed that many of them had the desire to start a business, but lacked information and confidence.

I realised that instead of just collecting data, I could also offer something—space to connect, talk, and learn. That’s how the first workshop began.

I’ve held eight workshops in the past year and a half, and I know of at least eight people who’ve started their business journeys since attending. Some are now building their businesses not just in Glasgow, but across the UK. That makes me really proud.

Q: What advice would you give someone who has an idea but lacks confidence?

A: Trust yourself. If you’ve come all the way to study in a new country and made it this far; you’re already strong. If you have an idea, come talk to the university, come to Inspire, or talk to me. There’s support out there. But the first step is believing that you can do it.
