We encourage doctoral applicants who are interested in our core research areas. The Department is committed to socially progressive and interdisciplinary research which aims to understand the constantly shifting worlds of work, employment and organisations. From the local to the global, from the individual to the collective, our research aims to:
- discover pathways towards fair, sustainable, and meaningful work
- foster inclusion and diversity
- explore the impact of technologies on working lives
- investigate the role which leadership and human resource management can play in addressing these challenges

Fulbright scholarship: from Florida to Strathclyde
Thanks to the Fulbright scholarship, PhD researcher Jenika Katz was able to move to Scotland for an adventure of a lifetime.
